This first one you most likely would have read and heard of, as it is quite old but I figured I'd feature it too. This first one is Daimon by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
Goodreads Description: For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.
According to her mother, that’s a good thing.
But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.
The daimons have found her.
This next one is a prequel to the book Angelina's Secret by Lisa Rogers and I think it's a really good short story to read if you're wanting to get a feel for Angelina's Secret. The next book is Angelina's Friend by Lisa Rogers.
My thoughts on Angelina's Friend:
"While waiting for Angelina’s Secret to get to me in the mail after ordering the book I stumbled upon this little gem and decided to read it to get a little bit of insight into what Angelina’s Secret would be like.
I’m really glad I read this little story because it was so good. It introduced Angelina and Josie and it gave some clues as to what could happen in Angelina’s Secret.
The ending was really good and has me craving the book. Angelina’s Friend is definitely worth checking out because it has me excited for Angelina’s Secret."
The final one is a relatively new addition to the Spencer Hill Press website and it gives a little taste of what's to come from Masters of the Veil by Daniel A. Cohen this free download is for a short story and teaser chapter for Masters of the Veil. The third and final free download for today is The EveryMother Knows Best by Daniel A. Cohen.
I just recently read this one and it's really good. It's cleverly written and has an ending that I really liked. It definitely has me excited for Masters of the Veil.
